We expect that students attending Summer Academy make themselves available for mandatory academic commitments from approximately 9:00 AM through 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
Kick-off Weekend activities on July 25th and July 26th, 2026 are mandatory for all Summer Academy participants.
Otherwise, Summer Academy does not impose mandatory academic requirements or class times on the weekends or in the evenings. Participants are strongly encouraged to plan weekend and evening time to complete coursework, study independently or utilize campus resources (such as the Writing Center and Mathematics Enrichment Center).
Summer Academy also offers a variety of free extracurricular or social opportunities, which students may voluntarily choose to participate in to enhance their overall experience.
All Summer Academy participants are enrolled in 3 courses for a total of 5 possible credits available to be earned. For more information about these courses, visit the Summer Academy Courses page!
We understand that at times students need to maintain employment while attending school. Students are free to utilize their time outside of the classroom as needed. Please keep in mind: the mandatory academic requirements will be scheduled from approximately 9:00am through 5:00pm, Monday through Friday.
While Summer Academy does not have mandatory academic requirements outside of these times, participants are strongly encouraged to plan weekend and evening time to complete coursework, study independently or utilize campus resources (such as the Writing Center and Mathematics Enrichment Center).
Summer Academy also offers a variety of free extracurricular or social opportunities which students may voluntarily choose to participate in to enhance their overall experience.
For students who are commuting for Fall 2026, you have the opportunity to live on campus for free during the three weeks of the Summer Academy program. We strongly encourage you to think about living on campus during the program to have easier access to campus resources, activities and social opportunities with other program students!
Packing for a new experience on a college campus can be challenging! Please refer to the "Moving Checklist" provided by the Housing office, available on the Seton Hill University website. This checklist offers detailed suggestions for necessary and recommended items for campus residency!
The following expenses are covered by the Summer Academy program:
